VPN Client Setup Guide

Set up your account, plan, and subscription in order, then import it on your device. Already have a subscription link? Go straight to the client setup section.

Create an Account and Open the User Dashboard

Start by opening the VPNFlat account page and following the prompts to choose a username and password. No email address is required. Pick a username you can recognize and set a unique password for this service. Check the spelling before submitting, then save your account details in your password manager. You’ll need them to sign in on other devices.

When you’re done, follow the prompts to open the user dashboard. If you’re still on the sign-in page, log in with the details you just saved. Use the dashboard to manage plans, orders, client downloads, and subscriptions; the marketing pages provide information. Make sure you can open your account overview before choosing a plan. This helps prevent confusion if you switch between accounts and can’t find an order.

If you already have an account, there’s no need to create another. Select “Log in” in the navigation. If you can’t sign in, check your keyboard input, capitalization, and whether your password manager filled in details for another site. Don’t keep creating accounts to resolve a login issue. For account help, see the Help Center.

Choose a Plan and Review Your Order

Open the Plans section in the dashboard. Check the billing terms first, then compare data allowances. VPNFlat monthly plans are ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, and ¥28/month for 500GB. Monthly data resets each month on your sign-up date, not on the first day of the calendar month. Choose based on your usual browsing, remote work, or video use—not the number of devices. All plans support unlimited devices.

If your usage varies, consider a data package: ¥158 for 300GB, ¥358 for 1000GB, or ¥658 for 3000GB. Data packages remain available until used and never expire; they don’t reset like monthly plans. Before confirming, make sure you’ve selected a monthly plan or a data package as intended. Don’t compare options by upfront price alone. See the Plans page for full pricing and billing details.

Continue to the order page and check the plan name, amount, and payment method before paying. Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT are supported; follow the instructions shown with your order. After payment, return to the user dashboard and check your order and subscription status. If the payment status hasn’t updated yet, check the original order before trying again.

VPNFlat offers a 60-day money-back guarantee. See the Refund Policy for details on how to request one. If you upgrade a monthly plan mid-cycle, the price difference is converted into remaining days. Review the change details shown in the dashboard before proceeding. Once your subscription is available in your account, continue to get your subscription link.

Get Your Subscription Link from the Overview

Open the account overview in the user dashboard and find the subscription section. Check your current plan and its status, then use the dashboard’s copy subscription or import into client option. A subscription link is not the VPNFlat homepage or your order page. It lets a client retrieve the server configuration for your account; you can’t substitute an arbitrary URL from your browser’s address bar.

If the dashboard offers an import option for your client, follow its instructions. Your system may ask whether to open the client; check that the app name is correct before continuing. If the app doesn’t open or the client doesn’t receive the configuration, copy the link and add it manually in the client. Both methods deliver your subscription to the client.

When copying the link manually, keep it intact. Don’t add spaces, line breaks, or punctuation. The example below shows the general format for illustration only and won’t connect. Always get your actual link from your own account overview.

https://example.com/sub?token=YOUR_TOKEN

Keep your subscription link safe, just like your account details. Import it only on your own devices; don’t paste it into public chats, shared documents, or screenshots. If you switch computers or reinstall the app, sign in to the dashboard to get the link again rather than using one from someone else’s configuration. When asking for help, hide identifying details in the link before sharing a screenshot.

Install a Client and Import Your Subscription

Once you have your subscription, open the client downloads section in the user dashboard and choose your device’s platform. Use the VPNFlat client and its instructions where available; don’t mix up configuration steps for different clients. You can download the client after signing in, except on iOS. You must be signed in to get your subscription. Installing the app and activating a subscription are separate steps: opening the client doesn’t mean your account has an active subscription.

Get the Client

Windows: Add a Configuration or Subscription

Select Windows in the dashboard and download the VPNFlat client as instructed. After installing and opening the app, look for “Configuration,” “Subscription management,” or a similar option. Choose an action such as adding a subscription or importing from a link. Paste the complete link you copied from the overview. If you’re asked to name the configuration, use “VPNFlat” or another name you’ll recognize, then save and update it.

After the update, check that a server list appears and that the configuration you just added is selected—not an empty one already in the app. When connecting, follow the dashboard guide and system prompts if the client needs to enable a system proxy or request network permissions. Pause any other proxy apps to prevent them from controlling the network at the same time. Don’t disable system security settings just to complete the installation.

macOS: Import Your Subscription and Grant Permissions

In the downloads section, choose the VPNFlat client for your Mac and install it according to the dashboard instructions. Open the app, go to its configuration or subscription page, and paste your subscription link using the import-from-link option. You can also use the matching import option in the dashboard. Save and update the configuration, then select it to connect once the server list appears.

macOS may ask you to approve a network configuration, VPN configuration, or network extension the first time you connect. Check that the app named in the prompt is the client you just installed, then follow the system instructions to approve it. If the connection doesn’t work, check for any system prompts awaiting your approval before importing again. For more on system permissions, see the Help Center. You don’t need to change unrelated system settings.

Android: Import Your Subscription and Allow the VPN Connection

Sign in to the dashboard and download the VPNFlat client from the Android section. Follow system prompts about the app’s source and confirm that the file came from the dashboard. Open the client, go to configuration or subscription management, and choose the import-from-link option. Paste and save your subscription, then update the configuration and check that the server list appears.

The first time you connect, Android usually asks for permission to set up a VPN connection. Check the app and allow the request. Once connected, switch to your browser to test it rather than relying only on the import confirmation. If the connection often drops when the app is in the background, check your device’s battery and background activity settings and allow what the client requires. Menu names vary by device, so you don’t need to follow instructions for a different model.

iOS: Get the Installation Link Through the Dashboard

The user dashboard checks eligibility for iOS installation. Users with a purchased, unexpired plan can access the corresponding App Store link. Sign in to the dashboard, open the iOS downloads section, and follow the instructions on the page. If no link is available, check your plan status or read the dashboard prompts. Don’t use installation links from other websites as a substitute.

After installing the client, return to the dashboard and use the matching import option. To import manually, find the subscription, configuration, or import-from-link option in the app, paste your subscription, and update it. The first time you connect, iOS may ask you to allow a VPN configuration and confirm it using your device’s authentication. Return to the client, select a configuration and server, then connect. If you’ve imported the subscription but haven’t approved the system configuration, the app may not be able to route your network traffic.

Linux and Your Other Devices

VPNFlat also supports Linux. Sign in to the dashboard, select Linux, and follow the client and installation instructions in the downloads section. Then import your subscription using the matching option. You can connect an unlimited number of devices at once, but each one needs its own installation, import, and permissions. Rather than copying another device’s app data directory, import your subscription again to make it easier to check the configuration.

Choose a Server and Verify Your Connection

Return to the client, update your subscription, and select the configuration you just imported. Then choose a server based on the service you want to use. For access to services in mainland China, check the China routes; for international services, choose a route in a region supported by the service. Region and route type are different things. You don’t need to change every setting at once—start with the default configuration, then adjust it as needed.

Turn on the client’s connection switch, wait for it to show a connected status, and make sure there are no outstanding system permission prompts. Open your browser and visit a website that normally works to confirm your basic internet connection is still available, then try the target website or app. A connected status only means the client has started its connection features. The real test is whether the target page loads and the app works as expected.

For streaming services or AI tools, also check your account’s region, the service’s availability, and the app’s own requirements. A server connection doesn’t replace eligibility for a platform account or guarantee that content will always be available in every region. If a website works in your browser but an app doesn’t, check the client’s current mode and whether both are using the same network before assuming your subscription has stopped working.

If you can’t connect at all, disconnect the client and check your basic internet connection. Then return to the account overview to confirm your subscription is active and check that the configuration updated successfully. If only the target website is affected, leave your other settings unchanged, try a server in a suitable region, and test again. This makes it easier to identify what fixed the issue instead of repeatedly reinstalling the app or deleting configurations and losing track of what changed.

Once you’ve verified your connection, keep the configuration that works. If the server list changes or you have connection issues later, try updating your subscription first. For common questions, see the Help Center. For connection failures, subscription update errors, DNS issues, or background disconnections, follow the relevant steps in the Troubleshooting Guide. For further help, use the support ticket page in the dashboard and include your platform, client, error message, and steps you’ve tried. Hide your subscription link and sensitive account details in screenshots.
